Up for grabs is a 69 only tool bag, smooth vinyl with putty/tan interior.

Its in excellent condition clasps work no rips tears or undone stitching

The shiny bit in the bottom corner LHS corner of the 3rd pic, which I didn't see until posting these pics, wiped right off may have been oil or similar but its now 100% gone.

Smooth grain exterior and tan interior. However, I believe that they also came with a stone grey interior as well. I have a smooth grain tool kit bag with a stone grey interior. Maybe the tan was early in the MY and the stone grey was later?

Look at the tan brownish interior, that makes it a 69 bag. I had an early 69 once that had a grey interior so maybe not every 69 got one but most all of them did. By 1970 everything went to basket weave and grey interior.

If you are really lucky then you will have the unique 69 only red screwdrivers too.

i am always interested to learn things from other members...

i was told that the difference between the gray and tan/brown interiors of the tool bags was the difference between 911 and 912. am i the only one who heard that?

(regardless, it takes a really high level of detail-awareness to get to such a level of criticism. i hope i never get there, but i have no doubt it will happen.)

    Hi,

It's not conclusive, but there was a very low mileage original 912 that was bought out of the Seattle area a few years ago by Seinfeld. I got a bunch of pictures of the car including the toolkit, and the kit had a tan interior. I've had 5 69S's and they all had tan interior kits. I do believe that it wasn't 100% of the cars, but certainly many/most?

A note on the 69 drivers mentioned but not completely visible in the pic, they are a slightly darker "wine" color, and the end of the handle is slightly bulbous.

    cheers,
    E
