    Paul Newman documentary

I haven't seen any mention of this and I don't know is this is the correct place for this but if you get a chance watch it. There is a fair amount of Porsche content later in the film, but the racing shots are great. I did not realize how successful he was in SCCA an Pro racing, including a second place at LeMans in a Porsche 935.

He was very talented to have started at the advanced age of 48. LOL. I was a Datsun fan in the 70's so Bob Sharp was my hero. Newman added icing to the cake.

Great video but they wore it out with commercials trying to sell copies along with the regular fare. Record it at save 20-25 minutes by cutting through the commercials.

Beautifully commentated by some of his friends and fellow racing legends.

I have to admit I teared up a bit watching the fatal of Fitsy and listening to the spoken words of several of my early racing heroes such as Willy T and Lyn StJames.

Oh man, to turn back time and go to a few more of the races he ran in back in the day.

The high point for me was attending Road America where he came out from behind the cars and walked over by my wife and I and started chatting with the crew who was rolling around some of his cast off race rubber. I casually watched him talking and didn't interrupt..... just enjoyed the tete' a tete' he had with the crew. And as a reward for being a good sportsman/bystander had the opportunity given to accept a half worn slick off the rear of his Nissan with his signature and #33 added. This was all voluntary on the team and Paul's part. I didn't ask, didn't cajole, just watching the action in the paddock post race, and still own this part of history today.

What a moment in time to remember on a personal level

As Willie T said, "they aren't making them like that anymore"
