Due to the strict emission controls implemented in the late 60’s, Porsche did not import the 911S into the United States in 1968. However, a few were imported privately and we now have one of those on consignment from its current owner. It is a beautiful, matching numbers and low mileage (37k original miles) 1968 911S in immaculate condition. This car has been perfectly maintained over the years with only one exterior repaint of the original Tangerine 6809 color. Door jams etc. still have the original factory paint. Scarcity isn’t the only reason this 68 911S is so sought after, it is also the last year of the short wheel base 911, lengthened by 2.4 inches the following year and the last year of the Weber carburetors on the S engine. The interior is all original with some hardware carefully reconditioned and reinstalled. 1968 was the first year of the black/white gauges complimenting the black leatherette interior and black corduroy seat inserts. The car has the original 5.5 x 15 inch Fuchs wheels. This is a numbers matching car with Porsche COA and Kardex. We will be adding more details about this car very soon.
