    Single H1 Headlight

Its difficult to get the actual condition of this headlight on pictures, so I'll describe it as accuratly as I can.
This headlight was put together out of the best parts I had from a set of 5 H1 headlights. The other 4 will have to be restored some day. This one actually is to good to restore, great driver with show potential if you rechrome the ring.

    - outer bucket, wiring, connector in great condition, original sticker.
    - mirrors both in great condition, not corroded at all, full shiny front and coating on the back still original green with original sticker. These are the later model with the smaller bulb holders and shield.
    - ring still Shiny, no dents, adjustment screws still nice and flexible extention in goog shape and original. The ring does have pitting, so if you want show quality this one needs to be chromed.
    - lens with early 007 markings on the outside. The 007 has a different fluting pattern than the later more common 010 lens. It does have some sand blasting, but no big pitting or cracks.
All in all a very nice unit, $600 shipped

I have an idea. To help out Alex and my fellow enthusiasts I can offer a second H1 in similar condition for the same price, $600.00. I have an original H1 with beautiful original reflectors (the most important part of H1's). So for the great price of $1,200.00 someone will have a great set of original H1's. I've seen many crappy cores sell for more than that. I'll post some pictures later today.

    Cheers,
    John

P.S. BTW, be careful about paying too much for cores. Unless the reflectors are in great condition the lamps will be very sub-standard in performance. So then if you want good illumination - the only reason to run H1's - you will have to restore them and you will end up paying more than you would have to buy good ones to begin with. It makes the most sense to buy crummy but solid cores at a low price and have them restored or buy good ones to begin with. Same logic as buying cars. Tweeners are a money pit.

Couple of pictures before I assemble the lamp so you can see the condition of the reflectors:

Original trim ring has been rechromed, new chrome plated brass adjustment and mounting screws, new correct BOSCH lens.

    Thanks,
    John
