Is a little sarcasm permitted here? It isn't on BaT, I can tell you. My comment on this BaT auction, which the BaT people struck, was to the effect that the site should be renamed "Bring a Celette Bench" or "Bring Your Rose Colored Glasses," given the incredible $300,000 sale of a rusty Speedster last summer and what seems to be heading to a comparably optimistic price on this 1966 911. I thought that the idea of BaT was to promote openness, but I am having my doubts. This appears to be a former East Coast car, which appears to have seen its share of East Coast winters.

Nah! Not east coast rust. We do a much more complete rust out here in Jersey.

Pretty funny! We're good at rust in Massachusetts, too. Whatever coast this car rusted on, the projection of $20,000 to fix it is laughable. Maybe the seller meant $200,000. That seems closer to correct.

Tough crowd. This car has some needs, but it's not a terrible example for someone to use and enjoy. Plus, if they have some talent and time, they should be able to correct the rust and poor attempts from the past. At the end of the day, it's just metal. (zero affiliation)

Thanks for discussing my car. Feel free to call John Esposito to discuss the rust repair. He told me the ballpark was $20K. It's currently at $72,000.
