    FS: 1970 911 T Coupe

    1970 Porsche 911 T Coupe
    VIN 9110101291
    $65,000.00 US

This is a very nice early 911, silver with black, which is a driver level and which has a professionally built and upgraded 1980 SC engine and a 915 transmission. Complete documentation of the two owners and modifications and repairs is evidenced by over 200 pages of ownership and repair details. This Porsche was originally purchased by George Mosteller in California who drove the car approximately 228,000 total miles. It was moved to Colorado in 1990, and it was sold in 1999 to the recently deceased second owner, John Roper, Denver, Colorado. Over the past 26 years Mr. Roper drove the 911 very little, approximately 10,000 miles, but spent over $30,000 in the engine and transmission upgrades, starting in 2002.

Mechanical Systems – The engine, rebuilt by Storz Garage, Denver, is a modified 3.2
1980 911 SC, with almost every conceivable upgrade to include new 98 mm Mahle piston/cylinders, complete new or rebuilt valve and rocker components, reground and polished crankshaft, Elgin Mod S camshaft, rebuilt 3.2 Carrera heads, 46 mm Weber carburetors, Permatune CD and rebuilt SC distributer, new front oil cooler system, RSR style flywheel and Sachs clutch, new, early 911 model, stainless steel heat exchangers and muffler were installed, at a cost of over $25,000 in 2002. The 915 transmission was rebuilt at the same time frame at a cost of $3,700. It is estimated that this work today would exceed $50,000. A recent leak down showed excessive loss in one cylinder and over $4,200 was spent to repair a bent valve.

The brake system was recently inspected and the rear calipers were rebuilt, the front calipers were found to be in good working order. The steering and other suspension systems were also in good working order. A camber stiffening bar was installed on the front struts.

Electrical systems and lights, horns, etc. are in good working condition.

Exterior and Interior – 911 S trim is installed and the car apparently received its first repaint in 2002 which was to the original silver color. The only metal repair invoice found in the documentation was to repair the right quarter panel in 1994. Otherwise, and amazingly so, there is no structural rust anywhere and only very minor surface rust. The floor pan and front suspension pan appear to be original and in good condition. The exterior paint is very good with only minor stone pits and chips, gaps and panel fit are very good. A set of five 6 X 15 Fuchs wheels, 901-361-012-06, in good condition, are all dated 1/70 and the dates are consistent with a March 1970 production date and are believed to be the original. The P6000 Pirelli 205/65 R15 are almost new but are dated June 2000 and should be replaced. The exterior glass is in very good condition.

The carpets, seat covers and door panels were replaced using correct materials, and a new dash cover was installed. New, and correct door pockets were installed, all of which results in a very original and high quality interior. The steering wheel was replaced with a later 911 version.

Other considerations – The partially complete and original tool kit, jack and original owner’s manual are included. There isn’t a COA for the car since the engine was replaced and the original silver color paint can be established.

This fine Porsche is located in Denver Colorado and is available for inspection.

Price reduced to $60,000! Surely someone who likes higher performance would be interested in this very nice wolf in sheep clothing.
