    WTB: 73 911 Outside mirror

    Looking for a 73 911 outside mirror. Must be original and in excellent condition.

    I believe it is called the smaller flag mirror.

    The original mirror frame/housing was not chromed...just the two pieces (pedestal and base) were chrome. The new replacement from Porsche is indeed all chrome...just depends on how original you want/need to be. I have a perfect original housing with no dings or dents (hard to find) and just had the two chrome pieces redone by a high end plater....stunning. NO mirror glass or plastic /rubber gasket that secures the glass to the frame and the two chrome pieces (just rechromed by a high-end plater at a cost of $200.00 and they are stunning). No mirror glass or plastic. Let me know if interested, provide an email and I can push a few photos to you.

    I've never been able to successfully change a mirror glass without breaking the glass.

    I do have a couple of original 72/73 mirrors. The silver in the glass is a bit crappy, but the mirror itself is cherry.
