Hello I have a need for a pair of Factory RS or RSR light weight seats. Also do you have any pictures of REAL SEATS that you could share?
Some reproducted look very real. For 1973 Porsche not 1974 type. Thanks George

this is a seat from a 3.0 RS - I still might have some more photos of it - and the current owner is a member of this board.

Last year a similar genuine seat was for sale at retro classics in Stuttgart. I don't know the name of the seller italian Guy with a beard - he's always in Stuttgart, Mannheim and Essen. He was asking 3.500 € - the seat was not in as good condition as mine.

    Hi George
Sliders are ok (real lightweight), the rest seems having been destroyed during an attempt of restoration - but what I don't know is whether the RS Rändelschraube sitze have been regular GRP or woven like the RSR or 3.0 RS

    Cheers

    Uli

    Hi Uli, George,

I would say regular but thinner than the aftermarket Rändelschraube. You can ask Gerrit, he did restore my Porsche delivered seat (with three mounting holes per corner and shortened lever of the slider. I still need to measure the thickness of my seat vs an aftermarket Recaro.

    Take care,

    Cees

    Guys,

Just measured my real RS leichtbau seats, the GFK shell has a thickness around 3.2 mm. An aftermarket Recaro shell measured 4.6 mm GFK thickness. Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Cees
