Thread: Heated windshield

    Heated windshield

The Porsche COA of my model year 1972 911 T Targa shows a heated windshield, non-tinted as M473.
Can anyone tell me whether this was only an option for the Targa and whether the M code is correct? I also would appreciate a scan of the 1971 option/accessory catalogue, if there's someone here who has it.

Second question: where can I get a new one from? Porsche only has tinted ones and only ones with the mirror holder.
Shipping to Germany should be possible.

I found one producer in Germany, but the quality is not acceptable. And I found Ricky Evans in the UK. Any experience with his product?

    Thanks!
    Siegfried

M443 Tinted glass, heated windscreen and rear window
    M577 Heated windscreen
Not sure what years these options were available, but very rare.
M473 is the front spoiler, and a far more likely option.
I cannot read your CoA above; it is too blurry for me. Could you send me a better scan?

My Italian 73S had front heated windshield, but it was not on the equipment list from Porsche, not a COA. G

I am in the UK and purchased a non tinted heated screen from Pilkington who manufactures screens for major car manufacturers. These are made to order. Delivery time is about six week. It is marked Sigla.
The Ricky Evans screen is much cheaper than the one from Pilkington and availability is quicker. Reputedly, the Ricky Evans screen is not a good fit top to bottom being a little on the small size.
