Perhaps the answer lies within the multitude of threads on this topic. Search.

The 4 1/2 X 15 Fuchs were mounted with 165 x 15 tube type radials. Mine came with Dunlop SPs.

Not sure if they would have been supplied originally, but since the H rated (130 mph) Michelin XAS was released in 1965, it would be an appropriate choice today. Coker generally has the 165HR15 tube-type XAS available.

Those Dunlops would be great, if still available. I don't see any on offer now, even in the U.K.

Another good choice would be Pirelli CA67.

I think Blockley in the UK is making the old Dunlop "dog bone" SP under their name. Also Universal Tire is selling the old "chain link" tread Prelli Centurato. Then there's the budget Verdenstein, eh?

This wasn't original to the car, but one I spied years ago on the used rack at a tire shop and had hung on to.

The tread pattern Arne posted was used in the late fifties maybe early 60s. I have one that is on the spare of a Jaguar of that vintage.
