    70-S air cleaner housing finish?

In looking at archived postings and referring to photos from the 700 miles 1970-S that CORNPANZER had provided, I don't see a consistent pattern of black finishings. My October 69 built 1970-S has a glossy black finish (all steel unit) and that finish looks original but hard to tell. On the 700 miles 'S' photos, ,the air cleaner housing appears to be plastic and therefore rather dull in finish, and although the main 'snorkle' air inlet tube also appears plastic, it is evident the smaller tube that on that snorkle appears to be glossy black steel and riveted on. Before I refinish my 'gloss black' housing and tube, I would appreciate thoughts. If the answer is 'either or' based on experience, then I'm likely to leave it as is. Thank you.

Chris - thank you for the helpful reply...that's a good enough benchmark for me. My car is #0237. Steve
