FS: Cibie Bi-Iode Headlamps - Restored

    ** SOLD **

I've been working on those for quite a while and have a lot of work in them. These make the pulse quicken a bit for a headlight geek like me. As you probably know, they were used on the 911R, the 911RSR and the 911ST. These are very, very hard to find in decent condition.

Cibie Bi-Iodes were mounted in Hella sealed beam housings and these are mounted in a restored set. Lenses are new Hellas with the correct lettering and logo. Of course gaskets and retainer springs are new and adjustment screws are correct.

Two of the reflectors have been replated and two were in great condition and are original. One of the low beam reflectors had a hole for a city light and I have taped over that without detracting from appearance or performance. One of the rubber mounts on the back is in very bad condition and I have held it in place and patched it up with electrical tape. Bulbs are H1 55w in both high and low beams. I can install 100w in the high beam reflectors if you prefer. A relay kit would be recommended with 100w bulbs - I have the excellent ones from JW West on hand for $27.00.

The high beam reflectors (the small ones) are not really yellow. That effect is caused by a yellow glass cover over the bulb.

    $1,950.00 plus shipping.

These are plug and play as I include new fender gaskets and new correct chrome plated brass mounting screws. These lamps will really show off the right car.

    Cheers,
    John

    I agree . That's why I put them on my 1970 Targa project...almost done.
Excuse the feet. I took the pic a couple of weeks ago as I was installing a pair of Hella TTG lights, which I think also enhance the front look I was after. Both TTGs are in now I think the Bi Iodes are at home in a light yellow car ....the Targa's original color. As you can tell from the bumpers I have a bit of an outlaw streak in me. MFI 2.5 liter short stroke, Pauter 7R case, squirters, headers, alloy swing arms , etc. etc.

This is what Nick had to say about these headlights:

    John

As you would expect from a build that took four+ years I have bought many, many parts over the years and received lots of boxes, all with a level of anticipation for that new part. So often I'm disappointed in what I receive. Parts are not represented properly, things are dirty, chipped, broken or just not what I expected and I'm let down. Well...quite the opposite occurred when I opened the well packaged box from you. Wow! The Cibie's are beautiful and exceeded my expectation in every respect. Man, they are great and will be perfect in my ST! Thank you for doing right!

    Nick

Unsolicited and used with Nick's permission. Many thanks to Nick - this why I do this little endeavor when I'm supposed to be retired.

    Cheers,
    John
