Restoration of 1970 911T targa calipers

Hi guys, calipers are out to refurbish, so I was wondering how to repair these, I've brushed them as they were corroded, and now? Should I go with black paint? Metal grey paint or any other varnish or incolor protectant? What do you guys advise?

    Thank you

    "refurbish??"

    Split calipers and inspect all:
    Through bolts, Corroded? replace
    Pistons, pitted, replace
Don't lose tiny rubber seals between halves and spacers!

Glass bead caliper halves: original finish was yellow zinc, replate...on a budget? gold caliper paint.

    Hone piston bores

Reassemble with new piston seals and dust boots, torque (new) through bolts to spec.

Pay attention to the angle of the piston notches using the triangular ATE tool or a card board copy of a borrowed tool.

From your question as to how to finish you made it sound like you were doing it yourself....

Eric usually re-finishes them. When you get them back all you'll need to do is bolt them up and bleed.

    I agree with your choose.
But... do yourself a favour... buy a good set of ribe bits and stay away from torx bits to open the calipers.
They are cheap over ebay or amazon.
