    Cool FS: '68 911s swt

    1968 911S SOFTIE

    I have very little history on this '68S SWT, which I have owned since 2010. I assume it had originally been purchased by a US GI stationed in Germany, and eventually made its way to Kansas, where it was purchased by the PO. He did a complete bare metal restoration over a 4 year period prior to my purchase.

    The car presents very well, with good to very good paint and reasonably good gaps. Interior is excellent, NOS dash, NOS elephant hide panels, pepita seats redone by Tony Garcia/Autobahn Interiors, and new carpeting, restored targa top and soft window. Included with sale is an uber-rare targa top storage bag.

    The car drives great and handles well, but has seen little driving time over the last 5 years with less than 2,000 mile on the clock (now 67,700 miles, which I assume to be accurate). My building has been sold and I have lost the luxury of unlimited storage, hence the sale. ('60 Super tractor, anyone?).

    Car is not perfect. Clock and radio are not functional, tool kit and original owners manual are long gone (but I have a NOS '68S manual included with sale). Pan is solid but has been patched...full replacement would have been a better option.

    All in all, this is a solid, fun to drive, matching numbers '68S Softie, which needs nothing to be enjoyed. Car is currently registered and insured (mounted my old plates for photos).
