    That looks glass beaded.

And judging by the fact that the oil galley plugs have not been replaced afterwards I highly suggest that the end user have case and cam housings ultrasonically cleaned before using. Pretty but dangerous.

    Good luck with the sale.

Hey Frank, Swing and a miss. The parts were large media tumbled. Galleys are clean. No glass bead or sand blast. But, thanks for your opinion. I'm a Porsche tech for 36 years. I know how to work on these.

You're welcome. It's what people pay me for.

Obviously the head studs were removed prior to surface renovation but you'll have to explain to us how the "large media" cleaned the studs, cam line fittings, and cam end cap so well. We have our own tumbler and have tried every type of media out there. Cases typically don't look that "perfect" unless blasting is done. (Which we won't do.) Also, tumbling won't remove the grime in the tiny corners of the case so when I see a case that has a very uniform surface throughout, chances are it's been at least partially blasted. Did you clean and tumble this personally or did someone else?

Not trying to start a pissing match, just saying in this situation it may be a good idea to remove the galley plugs and ultrasonically clean. (BTW: Never a bad idea.)

Again, good luck and welcome to the forum. (I am curious how you arrived at your asking price?)
