    Never Seen These Before

    I was told these were used on twin plug heads, where the owner for some reason decided to run with only one plug.     Why couldn't he have just screwed in an old spark plug ???? A bit OCD !

    B Production Porsches were not allowed to run twin plug motors in SCCA or Trans Am in the late 70's while IMSA cars could run twin plug motors. I had a friend that ran in both Trans Am and IMSA with the same motor pulling the twin plug distributor for Trans Am and using a regular distributor with welded up plugs on the bottom.

    Is it possible an unused spark plug (even an ultra-cold one) might act like a glow plug and cause pre-ignition? Could carbon (or whatever) build up on a non-firing plug and make that worse?
