    K&N Type Air Filter Cleaning

    These air filters came with the Stoddard Sport Kit air filter housings that I’ve been using on my ST hot rod. I’m not sure who made these, their age, and if they’ve ever been cleaned. It’s obvious that they have been treated with oil but I have no experience with this type of filter.

    I just looked at procedure to clean this type of filter on the K&N website which suggests that if these screen is visible and not gunked up with dust and dirt that they are ok, which mine appear to be, so I guess I’d be happy to hear any opinions based on the photos below to confirm that.

    K&N sells a cleaning solvent and an oil for refurbishing their filters. I'm sure it would work for any similar filter.
