EVENT REGISTRATION :https://www.classictribute.com/evenements
Dear all,
Since years I dream, we all dream about an European event for Early air-cooled Porsches, for us Sreg members and classic car fans.
There were attempts some with success, others with less.
There are many Carrera xxx or Targa yyy in the USA for Porsches and other brands.
There is "Le Tour Auto", "Liege Rome Liege" etc.. dedicated to classics but for some with FIA or technical contraints.
Important : I have now asked a professional event agency to help managing the logistics and event registration.
https://www.classictribute.com/
To be clear : I have acquired an event management business company (former name "l'étrier"), which is now called Classic Tribute.
On top of my other businesses, I am personally supervising this event, and believe me my passion is in.
Now it is time to make a road marathon made to early cars and our Porsche air cooled in Europe, our run.
The principle is to drive 200 to 300 km per day through touristic roads (ban the motorways), 5 days, 5 fun trials.
Doing a road marathon (marathon de la route) like for our precious, beloved and old cars, having fun, having technical assistance with us, mark the Porsche centers on the trip, get some cool but nice hotels (and evenings) etc.
This is the "Challenge de la route", and it will happen every year, among other events.
Starting points, go by points, destination per day. Easy road book. No rush, rough timeline,.
Encouraging team/écurie designs etc...
The event is opened to other participants outside of the ESR, but same rules apply.
Dates: May 28th morning to June 1st evening
Challenge de la route : 5 days, 5 drives, 5 trials - 1000km

Rules/Regulations :
- For Schengen citizens : just make sure you have a valid car insurance covering European countries
- For European NON Schengen : Contact the local French Embassy and make sure you do/don't need an international driving licence (free in France) - just make sure you have a valid car insurance covering the European countries
- NON European citizen : Contact the local French Embassy and make sure you do/don't need an international driving licence for driving in Europe (free in France) - just make sure you have a valid car insurance covering the European countries
List of countries to be communicated later - should be Schengen countries.
Shipping/Other :
- As far as I know, renting an eligible car locally to go and run is very very difficult and expensive.
- For our non European fellows - either you have a local friend here who may lend his/her car to you, or you have a local friend here whom participate in and you are a co-driver/navigator, or you ship your car in and back. Last option needs investigation, please pm me for more details. Shipping a car from the USA should the around 1000USD return + insurance (likely 3%) - shipping company is your own choice, happy to be the local contact point in France.
- It usually takes 2 weeks oversea transportation which you have to add paperwork, going to the port etc..
