Looks like a Bridgestone, possibly a Potenza RE71

Those and the A008 were the hot tires in the early 90's.

    Lightbulb

I believe they are Yokohama AVS Intermediates...
I went through about 4 sets from '89 till I couldn't get them anymore...

IMHE - They were hands down the BEST 60 series Ultra-Performance street tire ever made …
    I ran 205 x 60 on 7's in front and 215 x 60 on 8's in back...
They were only a couple of ticks off a DOT...

When they stopped making them I turned to the Bridgestone S-03 in 205 X 55 and 225 X 50... (by that time no more 60's)

IMHE - They were the best Ultra-Performance street tire that came after the AVS's...…

When they stopped making THEM I went with TOYO RA1 50 series DOT's to this day...

If anyone still made a 60 series tire (for a reasonable price) that could come up to either of those old tires I'd put'm on today....

    … and so it goes

It all depends what you consider 'not very long'?

I got about a little less then 8k out of both the AVS and S-03 rears... about 12k for the fronts
Those were HARD miles on very sticky street tires... and I was happy...

I get a little less then 6K out of the RA1 rears, again HARD miles on DOT's (and track the same tires about once a year)

Here in SoCal you get to drive on DOT's almost all year long....

I drive my '73 about 6K a year, and considering there is no Ultra-Performance street tires in my size... I'm still happy...

Agreed on the RE71. I had a set on a VW Jetta back in the day.
