So when is the Ivory Tower here going to start an Off-Off Topic sub section like they do on Rennlist?
I feel all warm inside over there. It’s fantastic, although can get a little rambunctious.
Oh...
Wait...
Never mind.

David, Twitter is nothing more than a huge petri dish for every form of contagion that can be excreted from the minds of its followers.
No thanks.
I agree, Twitter is only for twits.

OK, I’ll bite.I’ve been a member of this group from the start and I’ve made a lot of friends. It would be interesting to see if we could pull off an intelligent, informed, non-emotional discussion on politics. Especially given the fact that there are many high achievement Type A’s here and we all live in a highly charged environment of partisan personality transactional politics.
It can be done. My closest friend is a retired doc whose world view on just about everything is the polar opposite of mine. We never agree on anything. Yet we love each other like brothers.
One of the most difficult issues that I have wrestled with for years is the simple and ancient philosophical question: Does the end justify the means? I think that is at the heart of many political disagreements. If your political or geopolitical enemy uses barbaric tactics against you, should you use the same barbaric tactics against them in order to defeat them, or does that make you them? If we have a decent and moral objective but we violate all of the Biblical principles that are at the heart of our democracy in trying to achieve them, have we lost the moral high ground?
FWIW...

Excellent John!
What makes the conversation civil between you and your friend? Answer: You both value the relationship with the underlying premise of mutual respect. Herein lies the key to robust but healthy debate. We must have an inherent tolerance for a difference of opinion. It's when people begin to dishonor one another that things go off the rails.
Also what I have found is that many people don't actually have an intellectual basis for their worldview. Much of it is based on emotion and guess what happens when you try to debate under those circumstances?
Sales slump, so why not introduce at least one retro line of bikes ? Many have demonstrated reverse engineering on their own, but a company cannot fathom it.

You’re either a comic genius or completely checked out.
Either one gets a thumbs up from me.
Unfortunately for a company that's lost it's way...Harley will build 'spaceforce' before they ever attempt this again:
