    In Heidelberg and bored.

5A Friday in Heidelberg on a little vacation. Searching the town for coffee and found wanting.

Bored and thought I would post this. What a beautiful place. Would be even more spectacular if I was drinking coffee right now.

    A good hotel should take care of a caffine need.<script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/11bd9295/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/11bd9295/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script>

Hotel desk people aren’t real earlybirds around here.

Not to worry though; 6a hit and the gates of paradise swung open.

Look for a man playing a wind-up music box, in the fussgängerzone.
And drive on the narrowest cobble roads you can find.
    Both are awesome.

I’ll definitely check out the monastery. Thanks.

Scott, as far as a man with a wind up music box that would only interest me if he has a monkey.

    Dirk,
This is my idea of “relaxing”. Best part of life happens between 4 and 7a. Of course it was humorous when I went walking at 4:30 and ran across a couple of young girls on bikes. Asked them what they were doing up so early.

“Oh we haven’t gone to bed yet”.

    Classic.

Frank, The only places open for coffee before 6am in Germany are at the Hauptbahnhof or at a Tankstelle (gas station). German labor laws are strictly enforced, so almost all stores have state enforced business hours.

Frank, not being too intimate, what is your plan ? Remain in GER or go around ? If by chance you plan to come to Paris or nearby... tell me (if you wish).

    Cheers
