1970 door lock cylinder with key

Hi - I’m looking for a lock and key for a 1970 model year car. These have horizontal slots not the later vertical ones.

I’m also looking for a left hand electric window motor for the same model year

Any leads would be gratefully received.

    Thanks in advance

I might be able to help with this. Could you post a pic of what you after? I am not quite sure I understand your description.

It is not the lock and key that is different, it is actually the door handle. MY1970 is quite different to the other years 71 and 72/73.

Cees would this mean that the cylinder and key set from the later model years 1971-3 would fit and the key slot would still be horizontal?

Yes, the key orientation in the handle is just 180 degrees different.

Thank you - that’s really helpful - are you sure about this? I have been getting conflicting messages on this. I’ve been told by that the key is different by one specialist and that the newer cylinders won’t go in horizontally by another

I'm pretty sure Cees is correct.
On my car (which, as you know, is a sister to yours) I have correct handles and a motley selection of others 71-73 in the parts stash. All the lock cylinders seem to fit all the handles; it's the "special" 70 handle that leads to the lock being in the horizontal position.
Also it's pretty easy to rebuild any lock to fit an existing key - just move the tumblers around (there are only 4 types).
So, what's actually broken / missing with yours?
    Cheers, Richard.
