    70 - 71 911S MFI Airbox and Snorkel

    70 - 71 911S MFI Airbox
    Very nice condition. Squirters are tested and clear. Dated 1/70.
    A couple very minor dings and scraps.

    The breather elbow is different. And to be correct this box is correct for 70 to 71 mid-year later 71 models had a plastic air box.

    Could someone tell me the difference between 70 and 71 , and also which is the correct assembly, all steel compo or all plastic?

    I have seen many original '70S's including the 700 mile '70S with plastic air boxes , and many '71S's with metal boxes ( and plastic snorkels ) . I believe Porsche changed back to metal in '71 because too many plastic boxes were damaged by backfire flames or cold start squirter fires .
