    These deflectors were designed to promote close contact between the cylinder fins and the fan-driven air passing by.
    They can be used on cylinders with larger diameters by bending the deflectors upward about the vertical, center crease. The bending amount isn't very critical because the leaf springs will pull the deflectors up to conform to the fins as closely as possible .
    Similarly, with aftermarket cylinders having smaller diameters (AA), the deflectors can be bent down into a smaller radius.

    Larger engines (3.0-3.5) have taller cylinders and deflectors for them would need to be made taller.
