GONE...MANY, many great ones....
Here's a question...
Am I right to assume that there was pump case change in the 019 RS pumps like there was in the 2.4 013 to 021 S pumps ?
I don't think I ever saw a 013 S pump that didn't have a 'dark' (mag looking) case, or a 021 S pump that didn't have a 'bright' (alloy looking) case... Should I assume that the 019 RS pumps cases would corospond to the changeover as the 2.4 S pumps did ?
BTW - As I wrote before, when I sent my April build 021 S pump up to Guss for the RS space cam and recalibration for my '2003 rebuild, it came back with a 019 tag... When I asked Guss why he said that was one of the ways he keeps track of what he did to what pump...
Not sure if this old thread makes it less confussing:

Regarding dating any such changes based on markings ....The mfi injection pumps are date coded both on the casting (and as implied in link) embedded within the pump serial number. The approx lead time through Bosch supply chain operations can be roughly deciphered for RS 19 pumps (no different for other mfi models too I suppose but not checked) . Maybe of interest for owners concerned with validating the likleyhood of the pump being the factory original fitted item.
I once did check out the timings of mfi pump leadtime on my car wrt the various assembly milestone dates in the fahrzeug auftrag. My build papers don’t actually list the serial number of mfi pump but it is possible to see if dates are off (or not) to a reasonable degree of certainty more so if pump is in situ — not so much an orphan part. Possibly a relevant input to purchase decision if establishing provenance of model specific ( therefore potentially rare, expensive) parts fitted on a car is important.
Some folks may not care about such things but to others it might be important.

You probably will have to piece meal a complete set up. Pumps are out there, throttle bodies and the bits and pieces should not be a problem, but those 312 stacks are the hard part. I'll beat the bushes for you.
Thanks Rick, yes if we find a pump all we have to do is find a set of 72/73S MFI gear minus the pump, much easier![]()
