    Plastic Sunroof Sliders

I’m looking for 3 of these. Sierra Madre has them for $45 each and I simply cannot bring myself to spend that much on a 1” piece of plastic. Let me know if you might have any in the old coffee can, or maybe you know of a more affordable source

I believe Mercedes also used Golde sunroof so you could try to look for spares there if you want original. I was missing one of these and couldn’t face spending 45 on a bit of plastic. I found a piece of cream colour plastic (the lid from an old shaving cream pot) and my restorer cut it to shape and glued it on. Honestly, you cannot tell the difference and I am very fussy.

Thanks for the tip. I have noticed BMW shares the same parts as well. I’ll dig deeper in some of the other German catalogues. I considered fashioning something out of plastic as well. The groove seems to be difficult to reproduce, but this task might be ideal for 3D printing. I have never tried it, but it seems possible.

This guy made and supplied Golde sunroof parts I bought maybe 10 years ago.

Thanks for the lead. I had a feeling BMW shared the same parts. I’ll look into it. If not, anybody have a 3D printer? I have one slider that could be mapped as a template.

That is not the same part. We are talking about the cream colour plastic that fits on the wind deflector.
