    Question Downshift RPMs

Does technical data exist for best downshift RPMs for a 1967 911S. I am finding downshifting a bit more exacting than in a more modern 911. Thanks

Not sure what you mean? Are you having trouble getting the gear synchronized? What year 'modern' 911 are you comparing?

Respectfully suggest you refer to the "Heel and Toe" thread just below this one, or Google the term.

Are you saying that you can't downshift smoothly from ANY gear EXCEPT at 1500 RPM? First experiences with a 901 gearbox?

Either at a leisure pace or full chat, from 5th to 4th to 3rd to 2nd, you should just blip the throttle to match the higher rev, and you're done. If that's what you mean by "exacting", well, yes.

And as Ed asks: what "modern" 911 are you referring to?
