WTB: snorkel for Mann Weber air filter housing for 1969 911T

Cut nose off of my snorkel for air conditioner compressor installation. AC is gone, so would like to get back to original. Have current short snorkel for trade if you could use it. Heard the snorkel hose is to get warm air to the carbs to prevent freezing-true??

Still looking. Does anyone know where the warm air originates that goes through the hose to the snorkel? I think it would have to come from the right heat exchanger, but unclear how it is routed.

    Hi Rick,

The snorkel in the picture is actually a 1967 year only one. Rare, aka valuable. This snorkel belongs to a housing with three clips instead of screws. If I am not mistaking

I am not sure about this. I had 2 of these in my shed, and 2 more on motors sitting on the floor. All the same part number. One was a 69T.

How’s this one different from the 68 snorkel. Looks just like my 68 snorkel. Also held by three clips.

I think confusion starts w does the air cleaner hold the snorkel w (3) clips or w (2) screws. Once it’s clear what his air cleaner needs the proper snorkel can be sourced. And yes 68 is the same as 66 (non Solex) and 67.

    Exclamation

Besides the warm air feature, what is the purpose of the snorkle? I have read many theories for front engine cars and there are quite a few. With snorkle facing rearward at "wrong" end of car some theories are negated.
