    Christmas presents for your car

How many of you buy your car a present? We have no kids, so it's the horse, dog and cat that get a little something special. And Hildegard, who is spending her first Christmas with us since she came into our lives in 2012, happily perched above the Macan in our climate controlled garage.

In 2012 I had already tracked down the original owner (RIP) of Hildegard and later, his son. I tracked down her Texas DMV registration and also found that she was bought at Forest Lane Porsche + Audi on July 20th, 1973. Since 2012 I have been hunting for a Forest Lane dealer frame with zero luck. And then just 2 weeks ago, I found a front and rear set on eBay from a guy in Texas who was kind enough to ship them to Canada even though his auction wasn't set up to ship outside the US.

So Hilde gets another finishing touch. An original dealer frame and a new vanity plate that only MRI geeks are going to get.

What did you get your car for Christmas?

Sweet!!! I would have liked to get Grey Ghost back home after nearly 5 years so she could have affection lavished - but sadly we're not there yet!!! Great license plate frames!!!

I call the car Shep as the original owners last name is Shepard out of San Luis Obispo. As this is the 10th year together I thought it should be special. The KW's will be 2 way adjustable not 3 way. So Shep won't have the cylinders. As the car is SWB the rears will look closer to the other picture of rear coilovers. The rear spring plate replacement (RSR type) will be black and yellow zinc. I'm not sure which of 2 front suspensions Shep will get. One is from Rebel and one from Elephant. Does anyone have experience with either?
