    Sport muffler Leistritz 901.111.012.01 04/67

I saw a post recently from someone looking for a single outlet sport muffler and responded that I have one that I have had since the late 70’s. It was too loud for my tastes so I took it off and put it in storage 40 years ago. I received a couple of messages from people interested asking exactly what I had.

It turns out that I have a Porsche Sport muffler made in 1967 by Leistritz. Part number 901.111.012.01 date stamped 04/67.

Before I agree to sell it to someone looking for a plain old Sport Muffler, I thought would check with my RGRUPPE homies to see if anyone is restoring a ‘67 that might need a period correct muffler.

Don’t need to sell it, but probably will never use it again.

Let me know if anyone is interested.

    Photos of early Leistritz muffler

I promised to post photos for @soteric. Here they are.

This was the Leistritz when it arrived in New Hampshire, see photos. Amazing that any 1967-dated Porsche muffler survived, right? Thank you, Chuck!

Next the muffler was sandblasted, then primed with VHT Flat Gray Primer SP100.

Finally, I painted with VHT SP102 Flat Black header/exhaust high temperature paint, and I polished the flat edged chrome tip to bring the shine back.

Looking forward to getting it onto my 1968 911.

Would you mind posting some additional pictures of the area with the indentation for the motor mount?
