    Lithium Portable Car Starters

Does anyone have experience / knowledge of these? The technology has improved so much on them that they're approaching the "too good to be true" category. Up to 20 starts from one charge???

And of course lithium batteries are potentially dangerous in high temperatures. They do warn you about not storing them in temperatures above 95° because the battery can swell. Makes it a little impractical to carry one in the car unless you live in Newfoundland.

I'm kind of tentatively carrying one at the shop with warnings but I would feel comfortable with a little more knowledge. There must be millions of them out there and I haven't heard of any exploding or catching on fire.

    Thanks,
    John

Maybe for a compact car, I always found that with any sort of decent compression I needed fat jumper cables just to get enough juice over from another car's battery. Makes me suspicious when I see these chincy little cables coming out of a jump pack.

There's a youtube channel with a guy who tested one of these, without a great deal of success https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3G9...ab_channel=AvE

I have a Noco Boost with me in my 912 as it also doubles as a flash light and auxiliary USB power bank. Worked well in the past when my generator failed and had to start the car.

I took a Powerall on our Italian trip a few years ago and it worked well.

I’ve used NOCO Boosters for the past 3-4 years and they have always worked well. I helped a stranded driver in the middle of nowhere in northern Baja while quail hunting a few years ago. The driver and his friends could not believe that little battery was able start their very rough and tumble Explorer. I think I have the 70 which is a bit larger than the 40.

Great Christmas gift for your kids as well....

I carry one in every vehicle that I own. They work very well, and they hold a charge for a long time.

Thanks to all for the input. My fears are being put to rest. After some research the NOCO is the one that I've chosen to add to my catalog.
