We have a problem. We're about a month away from having our '73 hot-rod painted and the color we picked after much agony - paint code 227, the Jade Green used on one of the '74 IROC cars, may not be what we thought it was. When we had our painter spray a paint sample card in Glasurit, the color was much darker than any photo we have ever seen of a Jade Green 911. We had him do another spray using a different paint manufacturer - same color.

We've never actually seen a '73 or '74 Jade Green car in person, so now we're wondering if the color just comes across as lighter when you are looking at it on a computer. But on the other hand, we don't want to pick a color with some historical significance (minor though it is) only to find out later that our color mix was wrong for some reason.

Our latest thought is that we find someone in the registry that has an original paint '73 or '74 car and we send him one of our sample paint cards for him to hold against his car and we'll know for sure one way or another.

How about it, any of you 12 or so owners of an original paint Jade Green car willing to help us sort this mystery out? If so, shoot us a PM.

Thanks,
Rory and Lee
