Thread: Recaro Rallye seat

    FS: Recaro Rallye seat

Update: Will take offers on this if there is any interest.

Hi, I have this old Recaro Rallye seat for sale.
It has some flaws: Two small holes in the vinyl on the right thigh support, and the glass fibre back is cracked. This has previously been patched, but I removed the patch to take photos of the damage. The area where the patch sat has been roughed up with sandpaper to make the glue stick, I guess. IT would need another patch or some repair of the glass fibre to be useable again. Also, the white-ish streaks on the back don't seem to come of easily. And of course, the foam is 50 years old and starting to crumble ... There is also tiny tears in the fabric around the holes for the headrest.

The seat was recently installed in my NSU TT, so the "risers"(?) do not fit a 911 and will not be included in the sale.

These seem to be quite rare, and I couldn't find another for sale to compare it with, and I've had some difficulty setting a price, so feel fre to leave an offer.

It's located in Copenhagen, Denmark. I would of course prefer local pickup, but could ship it if necessary.
    Price: 700 euro plus shipping.

beautiful bucket from 1972/73 with patinated original cord / letherette. the damage to the back is very regrettable and would, for me as a collector, be completely depreciating. even a GFK repair will unfortunately not change anything as the original gelcoat is irrevocably destroyed. possibly still interesting for a hot rod that would like to paint the back in the same color as the car or something similar anyway. good luck with the sale. regards uwe

Thanks, Uwe. You seem to know more than me about these seats. I was considering repairing/restoring it for my NSU, until I saw the interest in the 911 community for these seats. I might be a bit off with the price considering the crack.

I hope it is ok to bump my own post, as I've removed my original asking price and am being open to offers.

    Hi Morten,

The patine is fabulous. Your seat is absolutely rare with such beautiful original upholstery. The crack is serious though. There are rallye I seats for sale with very ugly upholstery. You might want to consider to combine the two. Let me know if I can help you with that. Otherwise good luck with the sale.

    Morten,

Please state a price .... OR ... Make it a 'price inquiry thread' and not a 'for sale' thread, and please post it over in 'General Info'...
