Watched it live stream. Hammer price was indeed $385,000.00. 68 blue targa normal on Sothebys went for $235,000.00 if I remember correctly. Both would probably have been better on BAT with less auction cost to boot. Not big crowds at Sotheby. Probably because of time competition with Gooding which sold a McLaren F1 road car for $18,600,000.00

I agree that BAT would have been better for both. I also noted the sparse crowd at RM. Sometimes these cars get “lost” in these diverse large type auctions. Just my 2 cents ...

That includes the buyer's fee to the auction house. Seller had to pay a fee also. $385,000.00 when the hammer came down. Seller got less than that.

What Gooding & Company's website says:

1st $250k, the buyer pays a 12% fee on that.
Anything above and beyond the 1st $250k, the buyer pays a 10% fee.
No mention of any fees the seller would pay.

So if the hammer was $385,000, then theoretically you'd have 12% of the 1st $250,000 or $30,000 fee.....plus 10% of the next $135,000 or $13,500 fee which gives a total of $43,500 for the buyer's fees.
Add that buyer's fee of $43,500 to the hammer price and you get $428,500 which is the listed sold price on their website of $428,500.

    No seller's fee.

Sucks to be the buyer in that scenario. Definitely a better arrangement for both parties on BaT.
