Ideas for alternative to carpet kit...

We have a 73. Kind of a rod. Not going to restore as we like it as it is. The carpet kit was nasty. We removed the entire kit. Don’t mind the idea of not putting another carpet back in. There are some Cocomats down now on the bare floor. Works fine. But looks a little rough on the edges with all the exposed carpet glue etc. Any suggestions on a full floor covering that isn’t carpet and/or the tedious process of sanding to metal and paint? It could be nice if the is a full floor kit without carpet. Ideas?

Can you vinyl wrap a floor then put mats down? Might look bad-ass and send the appropriate rat rod vibes.

Sanding to paint is going to be a looong process. You could “roughly” sand the surface of all of the left over glue and throw down something like Lizard Skin or Raptor Liner over top of it to give it an even texture. That would help with some sound deadening lost without the carpet as well
