Unfamiliar with this kind of tensioner collar

I had an intermittent tapping sound coming from one side of my engine. It did not sound like a failing chain tensioner, but it was coming from one of the chain housings. Upon opening the housing, I found an upgraded tensioner lever and a 930 tensioner. The tensioner looks good, but this collar is unfamiliar to me. It was loose on the tensioner pin. A slight shoulder in the bore of the disc keeps it from slipping down the tensioner pin. When I moved it around, it made a tapping, gentler than when the car was running, but enough to make me wonder whether it was the source of the noise.

Has anyone else encountered this kind of a tensioner collar?
