    Binding on trunk carpet

Have a new Perlon trunk carpet set. All of the interior carpet has binding on the edges. It just seems like the trunk should also have the edge binding.
Has anyone tried putting binding on the trunk carpet and how does it look?

Your car should not have binding on the trunk carpet . Are you putting together a Porsche or something else ?

As Richy notes, the original trunk carpet does not have binding, but it is an easy job for an upholsterer who would have binding material and a sewing machine if you prefer to have that look.

Some of the later cars offered an optional deep pile carpet. I’ve never owned a car with this option but those fancier trunk carpets may have included a binding. If still available should be an easy swap in for you.

I replaced the old tattered Perlon, probably 35 years ago with the deep pile, which has the binding. To me, it seems like Porsche, making a world class product, would be consistent by binding all the fabric unless they wanted to save some money. I will do the binding and post pics.
