This is an unmolested 73S. I am surprised how different the colors is inside the front trunk - even taking into account the flat paint.

my '72 signal yellow looked very similar in the frunk area compared to this car. they do a simple, light spray in that area and it seems the primer/panel color shows through more with this color.

Ahhhh the sixties... I envision myself one early Saturday morning wearing plaid shorts, black shoes with white socks smoking a cigarette heading to the hardware store to buy a bag of nails.
SWB cars are an acquired taste however once acquired theirs no turning back.
I have had a few cars like this.... all in the Orange range..... I asked Gunnar racing about it and he said that the Orange colors got a very Yellow primer similar to this.... to
make the Orange Pop more.....

Gosh, so nice to see that. Great looking original 911. Great colour, great patina. Just perfect.
You can try to replicate that all you want but nothing beats original. My restoration of a signal yellow used light yellow undercoat and I tried my best to make it look like that but a restored car never quite does.

1970rsr is exactly correct , the signal yellow cars were first sprayed with a yellow base coat because the yellow paint had transparency problems .
