The starting grid 1968 Sebring 3 hr Trans Am race was filled with 911s. RacingSportsCars.com has the entries and results, but no starting lineup or pictures.
https://www.racingsportscars.com/pho...ml?sort=Number
Original results sheet is from Historic Trans Am
http://www.historictransam.com/results/1968.pdf
Heres what I think was the starting line up based on the pictures in SebringRace.com:
#6 Bert Everett 911
#8 Fred Baker 911
#18 Horst Kwech Alfa Romeo
#5 Paul Richards & Tony Adamowicz 911
#19 ? Alfa Romeo
#3 Herb Wetanson & Bruce Jennings 911
#2 Pete Harrison 911
#17 Del Russo Taylor & Bruce Meyers Alfa Romeo
#10 Lewis Williams, Marty Gifford & Bill Campbell 911
#15 Lee Cutler 911
?
#36 Wilbur Pickett & Bill Bean 911
#12 Jim Netterstrom & John Kelly 911 ??
#23 John Gunn Lancia ??
Bert Everett won the race, John Moore in another 911 came in second and Horst Kwech came in third.

Fantastic Eric !!!!!
Old Alfa geek that I am... It's Indeed an Alfa...#19 ? Alfa Romeo
It was the right hand GTA that local SoCal hero Vic Provenzano raced for Shankle Automotive...
(3 years later me and my friend would help pit for Vic in his own red GTA at the '71 2.5 TransAm's at Riverside and Laguna Seca...)
Sorry, back to Porsches...![]()

Thanks for the comments.
Many of the cars and drivers at the 1968 3 hrs of Sebring are familiar, but a few are not.
What is known about the following cars:
#9 raced by John Moore (2nd place)
#2 raced by Pete Harrison (4th place)
#15 raced by Lee Cutler (DNF)
#11 raced by Lewis Williams, Marty Gifford & Bill Campbell
Driver results from UltimateRacingHistory.com are below if that provides any clues
John Moore, Jr http://www.ultimateracinghistory.com...hp?uniqid=5482
Pete Harrison http://www.ultimateracinghistory.com...hp?uniqid=6919
Lee Cutler http://www.ultimateracinghistory.com...hp?uniqid=5225
I think that RacingSportsCars switched drivers for the #10 and #11 cars. The #10 cars in the photos looks like Fred Opert’s car.
Hi Chuck, Can you tell why I can't PM?
