    great photo Marek

that is him with Eberhard Mahle's car which he tuned up to be a race winner from it being a second hand 1965 road car
That car, and the fact that Mitter had tuned it up to 165PS, also featured in an article in Auto Motor Sport where it was compared to stock 911's a Ferrari 330GTC and an Iso Grifo

here it is from another angle - I have never noticed the foot in a cast before

Here a picture of Kaj Bornebusch 911 1967 it was tuned by Mitter in Germany and cost SEK 110,000 in 1967 and the engine had 220 hp, he was third in the SM in Group 5. He won the SM in Group 5 in 1968 before Anders Josephson,
In 1970 Team Kubero took over the car and Kurt Simonsson, Bengt Ekberg and Rolad Larsson competed with the car for three seasons in GT-EM with great success. In 1972 the car was sold. It was painted white later and looked like a Carrera RS 73a the engine was still there then but crashed later. Today the car is under renovation.

there is a major 4 page story on GM in Christophorus #64 August 1966 - not easy to scan unfortunately
he was one of the old school racers who graduated through bikes to single seaters - more hands on than just a paid driver
one of his projects was a F2 DKW square 4 (??) two stroke with rotary valves but got no further than testing
one of Porsche's stalwarts in the mid '60s but gone far too soon
Hugh - not Falk but probably an employee at the time
there are other stories but this is all I can find quickly

    cheers
    Dennis

1970 914-6 - materialised from the 'Lotto' garage into reality
    1971 2.2 911 S - now back in the UK - sob!
1975 Carrera Targa (ROW) - missed.
One of us is fast becoming a valuable antique.

another photo of that event, below, shows that the logo on Mitter's coat is a Shell one

You are looking for information on his business

Is it possible that Mitter's shop was actually the Shell service station pictured and he did the " Mitter Tuning" mechanical work in the attached workshop?

Have you tried Marco Marinello for more information. When I was at his shop 25 years ago (former location) he had good contacts with several former Porsche employees. That is partly how he got rare and nos parts. I was still fresh then but he was also talking about engine builders and there stamping into cases with their initials.
