    Rear suspension bushing

    Help please

I’m starting to put all the suspension back together. You can see below the part below - 90133105900. But as you can see it has an outer steel casing. Doesn’t see that it can fit into the opening? And it doesn’t seem that I can remove anything inside the opening. What am I doing wrong? Thanks ….

This one is easy Simon, take a chisel and knock those metal shells out, hit from the inside where they are split. Those are not a high pressure fit so they will bang out easy. Those shells are the outside parts of the new bush you have.

Now when you put the new bushings in put the one on the flange side in first.

When you put the second bushing in you want the first one in a socket or pipe to get some relief to you can get the second bushing to bottom out during installation. If you push both bushing in on top of each other one will not seat properly.

Yep, what Mark said and if you want to make the job really easy Elephant racing makes a nice removal and installation tool for the job. I use them all the time.

Thanks Mark - one more question, How much of the suspension do you re-build out of the car? Looks like almost all? including brakes?
