so you bought this dansk fuel tank a long time ago?

i have been told that there was a faulty production run that made it on the market...
have been through this--- i shortened the thingie.
i removed the tank for this stunt--thank you mr. dansk

    Thanks…
Yes think about 5 years ago….
    Damn !
Will shortening length of thread still provide a proper mounting ?
Also as you can see I left the connectors somewhat loose to finish tightening after install…
So after mods should I install components final fit tightness ?

in my case the thread was long enough..but i shortened it step by step..installed and removed the tank several times
    i tightened after install
and if i remember correctly i also did bend the banjotube(if this is even a word) a bit just to make sure the fuel hose has enough clearance ..
the hole thing was a bit of a PITA

not sure why i used aluminum seal rings

    Thanks for info & photo…
Wow your elbow attachment stub is really short …
Mine is at least a 1/2” longer …
Maybe I should try to cut some additional threads and then cut off 1/4”
Every effort & fitting on these 911’s is inch by inch !!

there was no need to cut some extra threads since it already was cut all the way through...and there was plenty of meat left after cutting

    Ok…thanks for all info
I needed the back of fuel tank lower to help clear suspension, my elbow fit was just fine ..

Finally after taking out a little over 1/4” first cut along a tape line ,then file work for more level then sandpaper on wood block , 220 then 500 to get perfectly level and smooth ..
OH like you the tank was out 4 times …
    All day and exhausted..

Also please clarify the size of metal return & supply lines out of tunnel….looks like supply is smaller ?
    Next install these lines ..tomorrow
    Thanks again
