Hi All:

I am chasing a new (and oh-so-fun) issue on my 1971 911T. The parking brake light on the combo gauge is illuminated.

The light is constant on (not flashing) and has gone out a few times while driving on the freeway . . . only to come back on a turn (without braking).

Just the facts, ma'am:

  • The brake fluid tank is 80% full.
  • The master cylinder is relatively new.
  • The gauges were recently refreshed.
  • Wiggling and pressing down on the parking brake handle does not impact the light.
  • Parking brake handle is fully released.
  • Wiggling the wire underneath the parking brake mechanism does not impact the light.
  • Brakes function as normal.
  • Everything was fine until one day I parked, shut the engine off, came back, fired her up, released the parking brake and the light didn't go out.

Any thoughts on where I should start my hunt? Thanks in advance!
