    Removing freshly applied clear coat

I did some touch up & the clear coat didn’t come out like I wanted. What are the best steps to remove it?

usually acrylic thinner works...but without knowing what kind of paint you used/is on your vehicolo things could go downhill
especially when you soak it too much...
    gently gently

is it not possible to sand it down and then buff out? how would one apply the thinner without smudging or worse?

I’m planning to do a 1000, 2000, 3000 grit sanding process & finish it off with a swirl orbital polish. I’ll just need to tape off surrounding areas to be safe. After extensive research. Lacquer thinner is just too risky.

    only guessing what you have
your plan would be sufficient for most circumstances.
    if you are lucky
your results may git you were you want to be
start with 1500...... with a solid sanding block

Well I got all worked up for nothing. The clearcoat completed came off with a fingernail. I guess it pays to use cheap clear touch up. lol

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Now I’m off to return all the items I purchased for the correction.
