    FS: Early dome light with Hella and Made in Germany script on the lens. Lens is not cracked, chrome is in good condition. Price 50 euro + shipping.

    this is not 911 more like a VW beetle etc will fit though..and fair priced

    yep but it is still not 911 and now seeing the different tab --i`m not even sure anymore if it will fit in the 911/912...
    can be moved to other parts ..or volkswagen site

    Sure it will fit 911/912 and also 356

    Can I see a combination of pictures from the assembled experts to show the differences described and possibly show why one would fit and the other would not?

    i don`t like the way you knowingly try to sell parts as the reale deal that are not--which btw is not the first such item of yours-

    the 911domelight is already a tight fit --and with the tab on your vw light one will have a hard time getting it in...and the chance it eventually will break the plastic or bend the frame(like yours already is ) is high.
    and if i remember correctly a different size (and voltage?) bulb is used
    btw--early 911/912 dome lights(as described by OP) did not have "made in germany" on the lens

    it is what it is .....not a 911 part
