    Pelican Parts - Ordering Hoses

Wondering if others have this issue...I ordered 12 feet of Venting hose for the Charcoal canister connections. You order it by the meter - thus I ordered 4 units. It was delivered today. I got 3 pieces - one 6 feet, and 2 three feet. When I asked why, the Pelican person replied......

"I have never been able to get any of the various hoses uncut. every single time I need a 2 or 3 etc meter hose it always gets sent in pieces. I have been told repeatedly that we cant do anything about it. Extremely frustarting"

I have ordered from other companies and they send it in one piece.

Pelican has lost its mojo. It’s secret sauce. They just fulfill orders now. The forum is great. The parts business was great. I buy from FCP Euro now and have no complaints. FCP had been doing the lifetime warranty on everything you buy before pelican started. And FCP you can talk to a real person. No problem. They’ve been very good for me.

Truth is, Aase isn’t great anymore. But better than pelican. Stoddard isn’t special like they used to be. For the critical restoration parts, I buy from one of the big genuine porsche dealers, for me, Delaware porsche parts is great. Parts arrive quickly, prices are about the best I’ve found. Again, you can talk to a human when needed.

Order from Belmeteric. They offer all the original Cohline hoses and always send on continuous length. I've purchased many times and never had an issue.

I live about 10 miles from Delaware Porsche parts. com They are actually a Porsche dealer in Newark Delaware but offer an online discount when you purchase through their site. Great for large pieces of bodywork since you can pickup in person and save shipping. Definitely worth the drive.
A part isn't purchased until paid.

+1 for Belmetric for hoses. They actually list how long the spool is so you know what the longest continuous length you can get is.

Not sure why you ordered 4 units? Four 1 meter lengths? We have gotten it by part number or by dimension from Bel-Metric. The O.D. is critical as it has to fit thru the grommets in the front bulkhead. Standard O.D. for that I.D. will be too large , so you must be careful to spec the right O.D. and I.D.

This is my overall point. Normally when you order hoses by the meter you get a continuous hose. Not one cut up in pieces. I wanted 12 feet continuous. Instead I got one 6 feet and two 3 feet pieces.

Ahh, now I understand the four units, 4 meters. And unfortunately those lengths don't work for anything.

their supplier cut it, typical, they have to ask for the hose in a roll and then cut it themselves, that is what we do, we sell vacuum hose in a length uncut for as much as 20 meters!!!! Sell a lot of it in 3.5 4.5 5.0 7.0 9.0 12.0 14.0 17.0 and even 19.0!!! (too bad we do not have he 20 and 22 but continental discontinued it!
