FS: Aluminum Decklid & License Panel Genuine Original old school 54yr old excellent

I bought this a decade ago from Eric Oviatt and never used it. It’s an excellent original aluminum decklid from a 1970 911S. They mostly came on 70 911S for homologation. Did all 911S come with an alloy lid?? Please discuss.

Rare to find - you don’t want to repair one of these as it usually won’t work. Most of them were damaged in some way or another as they are very fragile if they are touched in the wrong way. Accidents totally destroy them. Reproductions are nothing like the originals - they are flimsy, when you try to fit a reproduction to a car it bends all over the place when latched.

The lid is excellent with no cracks, damage, or previous repairs, all threads intact. 100% the real thing. Easy to fit.

The license panel is very good but not perfect, it’s solid and holds a great shape. I had 4 excess license plate holes welded up by one of the best coach work welders in my area. Comes with a rare aluminum license plate bracket!!! The bottom edge of the license panel is a little warped. I’ve looked hard over the years and this is one of 2 or 3 good alloy license panels that I have seen - harder to find than the lids.

If you buy this set then I will unlock the chance to buy a NOS PORSCHE letter set and NOS 911S emblem.

Perfect for a real race car, 1970 911S or something special.

    $6,000

Very nice set/offer. They are really lite’ I swatted a bumble bee with mine & it put a dent in it!
I have heard that there is a special lite duty deck lid strut for these to keep from bending the lid.

Yes a regular pressure strut will warp an alloy lid. I’ve used blown struts in the past when I couldn’t find the right one.
