Thread: Rubber band for fuel vapour box

Rubber band for fuel vapour box

This may be more question for Euro members due to different set up in USA but what are people using to replace the rubber band that holds the
fuel expansion/vapour box in place where it sits under the dash in the trunk compartment.

Original band looks like a square section style rubber band of sorts

I could be wrong but I thought Stoddard had those. From other dealers they are NLA. If not, I use a rubber band and dye it black. Not original, but it’s hard to see once installed.
But you are right about the original being square.

Check post Numbers 22-25 of this thread for, what appears to be, a really close looking/fitting alternative available thru McMaster-Carr

The Partsklassik band works fine, but if you are after 100% accuracy, it's not right. See this thread.https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...+square+o-ring

Based off info from the 2 other threads I ordered 2 sizes from McMaster Carr will advise on fitment and the best part nummber when they arrive.

Their square O rings are very close to original diameter as mentioned by Ravi.
