    Resetting the trip meter

Havent been able to find the answer to this on this or other forums. Probably because it is such a mundane question.
I have a 1970 911 with the standard OEM trip meter. I have reset it in the past but it doesnt seem like it wants to reset now. I have other cars and I dont want to confuse which does what to reset and I dont want to damage this one. Can someone chime in here and remind me how to reset the trip meter on this car? If the answer is to turn to reset, which direction should it be turned? As I look at the knob, does the side facing me turn to the right or the left? Do I need to push it in first before turning? Thanks in advance.

Don't reset it while the car is moving, only while stationary!!!

Thanks Jim, cant believe they'd change directions in the ensuing years. When you say "clockwise", is that when viewed from above or below?

Thanks guys. That did it. Just didnt want to force something fifty years old. To reinforce what Jim Amato said, as you look at the knob from the driver's seat, the face that faces you gets turned to the right. No need to push before turning, just turn... as long as vehicle is stopped.
