Front wiper assembly fix or upgrade

So, a lever on my 66 wiper assembly got detached, and I'm wondering if there is an easy fix to this?
I found a picture of how it should look, and to me it looks like there is something missing from the pin, maybe some kind of nut or ring?

Second option, is it possible to fit a later model assembly and motor as an upgrade kind of like you would do with the window mechanism?
Im not to worried about it not being period correct, for now, previous owner changed a lot panels and parts...

Lube up that plastic insert and snap it on the ball.

    I that’s a later wiper assy. Probably from a 69,71,72 or73. Follow Ed’s advice.

Yes, you are missing a circlip. Take the arm to a hardware store and get one that fits. There is a complete bush and clip set you can buy if needed. It's worthwhile checking because if a bush lets go, the mechanism can jam, resulting in bent arms or a burnt out motor.

    Good look!
